Soccer Game Preview: South Lyon vs. Farmington

The South Lyon Lions will square off against the Farmington Falcons on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Lyon has three straight wins, Farmington has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

South Lyon's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out North Farmington 1-0. That's two games straight that South Lyon have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Farmington took on Lakeland on Monday. The Falcons came up short against the Eagles, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Farmington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Lakeland are ranked 109th).

Farmington's loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for South Lyon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-3.

South Lyon came out on top in a nail-biter against Farmington when the teams last played on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
