Softball Game Preview: Analy Tigers vs. Cloverdale Eagles

The Analy Tigers will challenge the Cloverdale Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Analy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Cloverdale will come in with seven straight victories.

Two weeks ago, Analy didn't have quite enough to beat San Rafael and fell 6-4.

Sophia Pellini was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Bella Jurek was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Maya Antonelli was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Cloverdale and St. Vincent de Paul have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. Cloverdale put the hurt on St. Vincent de Paul with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Camryn Bird was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Camryn Donahoo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Cloverdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Vincent de Paul only managed five hits.

Cloverdale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Analy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
