Softball Recap: Artesia Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Artesia won the last time they faced Glenn and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pioneers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 6-2. The win was familiar territory for the Pioneers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Abbygail 'Bee' Perez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brisyeda Munoz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory got Artesia back to even at 9-9. As for Glenn, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Artesia will take on Pioneer at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glenn, they will face off against Oxford Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.56 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
