Kirkwood waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Liberty Eagles by a score of 2-0. The Pioneers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Eagles, so the Pioneers were just returning the favor.

Jake Anderson paced Kirkwood's offense, picking up two kills. Anderson got some help from Alec Gates and his five assists. Gates was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Kirkwood's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12-1 record this season.

Kirkwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Howell Central on the 3rd. As for Liberty, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against O'Fallon on the 3rd.
