Canandaigua Academy and Gates Chili are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Braves will head out to take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Canandaigua Academy came into this matchup off a tough nine-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Spencerport by a score of 9-7 on Monday. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canandaigua Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Goodsell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Delilah Liddle also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Gates Chili's offense. They lost 12-0 to Spencerport on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Gates Chili has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Canandaigua Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Canandaigua Academy might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Gates Chili in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
