Football Recap: Berkmar Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Berkmar had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it ten. They were outmatched by the Peach County Trojans and fell 56-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 42-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Berkmar lost, don't look at Davian Johnson. Despite the final result, he threw for 155 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 40 yards.

As for Peach County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 38.7 points this season.

Peach County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Reis, who rushed for 163 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Zion Ellison was another key player, rushing for 163 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berkmar will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
