Basketball Recap: Thornton Takes a Loss

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Thornton was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Bloom Blazing Trojan, falling 58-21. The Wildcats lost against the Blazing Trojan in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-40 score last time.

Bloom got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamryn Turner out in front who posted 17 points. Turner's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Shania Jackson was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Thornton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Bloom, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.

Thornton will be playing in front of their home fans against Rich Township at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bloom, they will venture away from home to face off against Sandburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
