Basketball Recap: Eagle Academy Comes Up Short

Eagle Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 78-59 to the American History Eagles. Eagle Academy was probably out for revenge after losing 57-45 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

American History's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ah'Zeah Woodard, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Davis, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Eagle Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for American History, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle Academy has already played their next match (against Cedar Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. American History will head out to face off against Bound Brook at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
