Baseball Recap: Assumption Takes a Loss

Assumption extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-12 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Stratford Tigers. The Royals were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Stratford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

For Stratford's part, not much got past Christian Rehm, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Assumption off the board. Rehm also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Tigers are undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jack Tubbs was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Riley Spindler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

While Assumption had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
