Volleyball Game Preview: Fishers Tigers vs. Roncalli Royals

After both having extra time off, the Fishers Tigers and the Roncalli Royals will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fishers comes in on five and Roncalli on 25.

Fishers is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Homestead as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Fishers can attribute much of their success to Ian Pifer, who had 13 digs and three assists. Pifer has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Roncalli faced Jeffersonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Red Devils.

Fishers better keep an eye on Aiden Hill. He was instrumental in Roncalli's win, getting 16 digs.

Fishers' record is now 31-4. As for Roncalli, their record now sits at 28-3.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Fishers has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Roncalli struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Fishers skirted past Roncalli 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
