Basketball Recap: West Valley Victorious

On Thursday, the West Valley Rams beat the Newport - Bellevue Knights 59-47.

Newport - Bellevue lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Portia Polo, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 23 points along with six boards and three steals. The matchup was Polo's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elie De Leon, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks.

The win got West Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Newport - Bellevue, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

West Valley has already played their next game, an 80-25 victory against Kiona-Benton on the 3rd. As for Newport - Bellevue, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-27 win against Wenatchee on the 3rd.
