Soccer Game Preview: Coppell vs. Flower Mound

The Coppell Cowboys will head out on the road to take on the Flower Mound Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coppell's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Coppell is headed into the match having not lost since February 10 and will look to keep things rolling. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Braswell 2-1. Given Coppell's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Braswell are ranked 586th) , the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Flower Mound was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to Marcus. Flower Mound have struggled against Marcus recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Coppell's win bumped their record up to 13-3-4. As for Flower Mound, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-3.

Everything went Coppell's way against Flower Mound in their previous meeting back in February, as Coppell made off with a 6-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
