Baseball Recap: Windsor's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Windsor came out on top against Mead on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Wizards walked away with a 6-2 win over the Mavericks. The six-run effort marked the Wizards' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Windsor got a great performance from Wyatt Gustafson as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Gustafson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Windsor's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Fillinger, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another was Izaak Haro, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

The win was the seventh in a row for Windsor, bringing their record up to 13-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mead, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
