Softball Recap: Grayslake Central Rams vs. Zion-Benton Zee-Bees
The Grayslake Central Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees on Saturday.
Ann Wolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Autumn Aliff and Danielle Eckenstahler did most of the damage at the plate: Aliff went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Eckenstahler went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emma Andrews, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Grayslake Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 6-3 when they post two or more home runs.
