Preview: Mountain Lake/Comfrey vs. Edgerton Flying Dutchmen
Mountain Lake/Comfrey has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Lake/Comfrey has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 901 points over their last 12 games.
Last Thursday, Mountain Lake/Comfrey earned a 62-54 win over Hills-Beaver Creek. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Mountain Lake/Comfrey has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Edgerton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 76-56 loss at the hands of Springfield. While losing is never fun, Edgerton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Springfield is ranked 184th).
Mountain Lake/Comfrey pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points per game. As for Edgerton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Mountain Lake/Comfrey against Edgerton when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 90-63 win. Will Mountain Lake/Comfrey repeat their success, or does Edgerton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
