Volleyball Recap: Juneau-Douglas Falls Short Against Ranked Colony

Juneau-Douglas faced Colony in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crimson Bears fell 2-0 to the Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Crimson Bears in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost eight in a row.

Gwen Nizich paced Juneau-Douglas' offense, picking up five kills. Nizich got some help from Liliane Veikoso and her nine assists.

Juneau-Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 13-3-4. As for Colony, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-6.

Juneau-Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Seward on the 26th. As for Colony, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against South Anchorage on the 26th.
