Volleyball Recap: Rocklin Thunder vs. West Park Panthers
Rocklin and West Park squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Rocklin had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Thunder have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
While Rocklin ultimately came up short, they really made West Park work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18.
Despite the loss, Rocklin still got an impressive performance from Donovan Kuwazaki, who had 14 digs and four assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziyi Yang, who had 11 digs.
Vince Sison went supernova For West Park., getting 16 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Sison has posted since back in February of 2024.
Rocklin's defeat dropped their record down to 11-17. As for West Park, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-9.
Rocklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Park has already played their next match (against Nevada Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
