Volleyball Recap: Lake Cormorant Victorious

Lake Cormorant won the last time they faced DeSoto Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. Lake Cormorant walked away with a 3-1 win over DeSoto Central. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lake Cormorant.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19.

Lake Cormorant found their leader in sophomore Kayla Gonzalez, who had seven digs and two aces. Gonzalez also set a new season-high mark in assists with 16.

Lake Cormorant was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Lake Cormorant's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for DeSoto Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Cormorant will square off against Lewisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DeSoto Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Germantown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
