Basketball Recap: Chase Sizer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wakefield over Knightdale

Wakefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 70-44 to the Knightdale Knights. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Sizer, who posted six points and five rebounds. Peyton Fogle also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Knightdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Murray, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. Murray continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamari Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Knightdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Wakefield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-67 defeat against Rolesville on the 29th. Knightdale has also already played their next matchup, a 56-40 victory against Wake Forest on the 31st.
