Soccer Game Preview: Pacheco vs. Pioneer

The Pacheco Panthers will take on the Pioneer Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pacheco is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Christian Brothers with a sharp 3-0 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Falcons are ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pacheco hit Christian Brothers with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Diego Mota, Jesse Gonzalez, and Santiago Rosas.

Patterson typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Pioneer proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a goal and slipped past the Tigers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Pacheco has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Pioneer, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
