Basketball Recap: Newburg Takes a Loss

Newburg was the 65-60 winner over Crocker when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Newburg Wolves took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crocker Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Lions are ranked 173rd).

Newburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Crocker, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Newburg will square off against Plato at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crocker, they will venture away from home to challenge Laquey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
