Marist won the last time they faced Marian Catholic and things went their way on Monday too. The RedHawks walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Spartans.

Ryan Lawlor tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, John McAuliffe was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Tommy Hosty was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Marist hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marian Catholic struck out nine times.

Marist has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Marian Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.

Marist will be playing at home against Sandburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marian Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the RedHawks' game: after the RedHawks face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Marian Catholic again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
