Recap: Bloomfield Warhawks vs. Waterbury Career Academy Spartans
On Saturday, the Bloomfield Warhawks faced the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bloomfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Waterbury Career Academy and snuck past 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Williams, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Zaire Lott, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Bloomfield pushed their record up to 1-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Waterbury Career Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Bloomfield will head out on the road to face off against Newington at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
