Baseball Recap: Charlotte Trojans vs. Falls City Beavers
Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Falls City Beavers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 9-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Josh Gaitan was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Gaitan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Sanchez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Falls City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte will face off against Knippa at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
