There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
The West Sioux offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. The final score between it and Woodbury Central was a 78 - 7 blowout in West Sioux's favor. At 71 points, that marked West Sioux's largest margin of victory so far this year. At 85 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Johnston (9th in the power rankings) and Waukee (12th). Johnston claimed a 31 - 18 victory over Waukee. The win boosted Johnston a satisfying four spots in the power rankings.
Big Showdown
The battle between Rock Valley/Boyden-Hull (ranked 7th in the state) and Sioux Center (ranked 42nd) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. Rock Valley/Boyden-Hull scooted by Sioux Center with a score of 34 - 14. Despite Rock Valley/Boyden-Hull's win, the team was passed up by other teams in the power rankings and gave up one spot in the rankings.
Movin on Up
Pella Christian will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it five spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It put the hurt on Central Decatur with a conclusive 56 - 20 victory. Pella Christian was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why.
