Baseball Recap: Dimmitt Comes Up Short

If Dimmitt was riding high fresh off their 24-5 takedown of Abernathy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dimmitt Bobcats came up short against the River Road Wildcats on Thursday, falling 13-3. The match marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dimmitt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadrian Herrera, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Dimmitt's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for River Road, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Looking ahead, Dimmitt will head out to challenge Lockney at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Dimmitt has given up an average of 6.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for River Road, they will venture away from home to face off against Floydada at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
