Soccer Game Preview: Clark vs. Reagan

Clark hasn't had much luck against Reagan recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Clark Cougars will welcome the Reagan Rattlers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Reagan will be up against a hot Clark team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Clark never let SA Roosevelt get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Tuesday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clark's offense was hitting SA Roosevelt from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Leona King led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Reagan's and Churchill's game on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Reagan turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. Everything went Reagan's way against Churchill as Reagan made off with a 5-1 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rattlers considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Reagan's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Clark, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
