Basketball Game Preview: Tuscaloosa Home Educators Warriors vs. North River Christian Chargers

The Tuscaloosa Home Educators Warriors will face off against the North River Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Tuscaloosa Home Educators was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to Ezekiel Academy. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Knights are ranked 106th).

Loss or not, Tuscaloosa Home Educators got some senior leadership from Jackson Sodergren and Caleb Farley. Sodergren posted 21 points, while Farley had 21 points. That was a full 41.2% of Tuscaloosa Home Educators' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Brown, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, North River Christian brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They secured a 58-52 W over Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

North River Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Tuscaloosa Home Educators against North River Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-27 victory. In that contest, Tuscaloosa Home Educators amassed a halftime lead of 35-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
