Recap: Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Greenhill Hornets
After flying high against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on Thursday, the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders came back down to earth. Round Rock Christian Academy took a serious blow against Greenhill on Friday, falling 84-50. While losing is never fun, Round Rock Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1115th, while Greenhill is ranked 164th).
Round Rock Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wes Owens, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Owens has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Eckert, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Round Rock Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Greenhill, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Round Rock Christian Academy and Reicher Catholic will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greenhill will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bay Area Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
