Basketball Recap: Athens Academy Comes Up Short

Athens Academy lost against Banks County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Athens Academy Spartans fell 64-54 to the Banks County Leopards. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dayden Rogers was a one-man wrecking crew for Banks County as he went 9 for 12 on his way to 28 points. Those 28 points gave Rogers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Dale, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Athens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Banks County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Athens Academy is taking a road trip to take on Rabun County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Banks County, they will welcome Providence Christian Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Banks County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
