Basketball Recap: Holdrege Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

If Gothenburg wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Holdrege, they should've done a better job of containing Garret Johnson. The Holdrege Dusters blew past the Gothenburg Swedes 79-54 on Saturday thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was his 19th in a row with at least ten points.

Holdrege has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.1 points. As for Gothenburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Holdrege will venture away from home to take on Cozad at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Cozad has won eight straight at home, while Holdrege won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Gothenburg, they will host Valentine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Valentine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.
