Football Recap: Corpus Christi Moody Falls to Tuloso-Midway in First Game of Season

Corpus Christi Moody unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees and fell 54-23. The Trojans have struggled against the Warriors & Cherokees recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Although Corpus Christi Moody took the loss, they still got scores from Traevon Dyer, Dylan Prado, and Romeo Castillo.

Damian Figueroa had an outrageously good game for Tuloso-Midway as he rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Figueroa's longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jace Arriaga was another key player, gaining 204 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, Corpus Christi Moody will challenge Cigarroa at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Tuloso-Midway, they will take on Ray at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
