Volleyball Recap: Enfield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Enfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lewis Mills Spartans on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

One reason for the win was Enfield's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-11.

Drew Wyse paced Enfield's offense, picking up 15 kills. Wyse got some help from Jacob Bellafronte and his 33 assists. Wyse was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Enfield now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Lewis Mills, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enfield will venture away from home to face off against Windsor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lewis Mills, they are taking a road trip to square off against East Hartford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
