Basketball Recap: Eastbrook's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Eastbrook won the last time they faced Blackford, and Mia Bustos did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eastbrook Panthers were the clear victor by a 43-19 margin over the Blackford Bruins on Friday thanks in part to Bustos, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 18 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Fox, who posted 11 points. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Blackford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adyson Sargent, who put up two points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Eastbrook and bumps their season record up to 7-13. As for Blackford, they dropped their record down to 2-22 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Eastbrook will take on Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastbrook is facing Madison-Grant at the right time seeing as Madison-Grant is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Blackford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
