Baseball Recap: Jay Gets the Win

Jay proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Chipley Tigers 3-2. For the Royals, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Jax Lowery made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played.

Lowery wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaylen Youngblood, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Jay's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Chipley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Jay didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Central on the 24th. As for Chipley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-3 loss against Northview on the 24th.
