Soccer Game Preview: Plainfield Central vs. Minooka + How To Watch

The Plainfield Central Wildcats will challenge the Minooka Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Plainfield Central is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Boylan Catholic just ended the team's nine-match winning streak on Sunday. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Plainfield Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Boylan Catholic are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Minooka who was credited with the win on Thursday. The Indians got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Joliet West's three. Minooka haven't had any issues with Joliet West recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Plainfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Minooka, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.

Plainfield Central skirted past Minooka 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
