Baseball Game Preview: Boone Toreadors vs. Carlisle Wildcats

Boone hasn't had much luck against Carlisle recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Toreadors will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Boone will be strutting in after a victory while Carlisle will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Boone got the win against Ames by a conclusive 12-2.

Meanwhile, Carlisle came up short against Van Meter on Saturday and fell 7-4.

Boone has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Carlisle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Boone couldn't quite finish off Carlisle when the teams last played back in July of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Toreadors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
