Recap: Towers Titans vs. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers
If The Towers Titans were feeling good off their 58-0 takedown of the Landmark Christian War Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Towers' rough 47-24 defeat to Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on Friday might stick with them for a while. Towers lost against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-0 score last time.
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Walker, who gained 145 total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Stansell, who threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Towers' loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
Towers will look to defend their home field on Friday against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. Columbia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Towers in Georgia (Columbia is ranked 160th, while Towers is ranked 421st). As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against McNair at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
