Somerset had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Russell County Lakers. This was payback for the Briar Jumpers, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Looking ahead, Somerset will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Russell County, they will be playing at home against Rockcastle County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
