Hart had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 16-9 margin over the Mason County Central Spartans on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won nine in a row.

Nora Chickering made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chickering was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Makenna Carrier was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Caydence Bateson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hart beat Mason County Central by a score of 13-9 later that day.
