Recap: Swink Lions vs. Monte Vista Pirates
The Swink Lions struggled with threes on Saturday (the Monte Vista Pirates had 700% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Swink had to suffer through a rough 66-29 loss at the hands of Monte Vista. Swink has not had much luck with Monte Vista recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Swink lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hunter Wallace. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points. Wallace scored a full 37.9% of Swink's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Madelyn Bamber was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Zariah Archuleta was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Monte Vista's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allessah Archuleta, who scored 14 points.
Swink's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Monte Vista, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Swink is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Holly at 4:30 p.m. on December 5th. Monte Vista will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Simla at 1:00 p.m. on December 15th.
