Soccer Game Preview: Patrick Henry vs. Atlee

The Patrick Henry Patriots will head out to square off against the Atlee Raiders at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Patrick Henry is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Varina a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Atlee hasn't lost a match since March 27th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They blew past Highland Springs 3-0. Given Atlee's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Highland Springs are ranked 181st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Atlee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six contests. As for Patrick Henry, their win bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Patrick Henry might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Atlee when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
