Basketball Game Preview: Whitwell Tigers vs. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles

The Whitwell Tigers will take on the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitwell has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 19.

Whitwell is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 65 points on Monday, they were much more limited against Signal Mountain on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 81-19. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 61-6.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts beat Sale Creek 77-69 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts found their leader in freshman Landon Caldwell, who posted 31 points. Tyler Heisig was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Whitwell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Whitwell was dealt a bruising 57-17 defeat at the hands of Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Whitwell was down 40-5.
