Basketball Recap: South Shelby Wins Going Away Against Palmyra

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Shelby had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 win over the Palmyra Panthers. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Belle Roush, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Mcwilliams, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 17 points and five rebounds.

South Shelby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 24 consecutive matchups.

South Shelby's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
