Volleyball Recap: McFarland Takes a Loss

McFarland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Chavez Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Janielle Castrellon paced McFarland's offense, picking up five kills. Castrellon got some help from Sophie Cruz and her seven assists. Cruz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

McFarland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-25-1. As for Chavez, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McFarland is set to square off against their familiar foe Shafter at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Chavez will challenge rival Delano at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
