Plainfield entered their tilt with McCutcheon on Saturday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Mavericks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Saturday.

Sidney Parks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kami Arnett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maci Hanlin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.

Plainfield's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for McCutcheon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Plainfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Northview on the 28th. As for McCutcheon, they will take on Brownsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
