The Vermont Academy Wildcats will head out to face off against the New Hampton School Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Vermont Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
New Hampton School's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Vermont Academy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Tilton School on Wednesday. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryan Peloso made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other pitching news, Will Shlomm looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Vermont Academy let Lucas Sinacola and Milo Tucker run wild. Sinacola got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Tucker went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Sinacola also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Pat Connors was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Vermont Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tilton School only posted a batting average of .188.
Kimball Union Academy hit New Hampton School with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Huskies couldn't push the score so high this time.
New Hampton School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Fanale, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Vermont Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for New Hampton School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season.
Vermont Academy couldn't quite finish off New Hampton School in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
