Basketball Recap: Roy/Mosquero Takes a Loss

After flying high against Corona/Vaughn last Friday, Roy/Mosquero came back down to earth. The Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue fell just short of Fort Sumner/House by a score of 58-55 on Saturday. The Blue/Lady Blue were up 20-5 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Roy/Mosquero has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Fort Sumner/House, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Roy/Mosquero and Grady will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Fort Sumner/House, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Magdalena at 3:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
