Recap: Ripon Indians vs. Stone Ridge Christian Knights
The Ripon Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Stone Ridge Christian 69-66. The victory was familiar territory for Ripon who now have three in a row.
Dawson Downs was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jack Schoolland, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Stone Ridge Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kassius Salazar, who scored 22 points. The matchup was Salazar's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Richards, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Ripon's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Stone Ridge Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Ripon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Delhi at 5:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Delhi will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1254th, while Ripon is ranked 399th). Stone Ridge Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sacramento Adventist at 11:00 a.m. on December 28, 2023. Sacramento Adventist is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
