Basketball Recap: Pinellas Park Comes Up Short

Pinellas Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles, falling 66-28. The Patriots lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-34 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Pinellas Park lost, don't look at Ja?Naija Roney. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points. Roney's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian Rocks Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malia Stevens, who earned 24 points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Hall, who scored 13 points.

Pinellas Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Indian Rocks Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.

Pinellas Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-23 defeat against Clearwater Central Catholic on the 15th. Indian Rocks Christian has also already played their next contest, a 48-33 loss against Calvary Christian on the 16th.
